C G those of us who are lost in the wind Am F carrying homes upon our backs C G wearing the dust of what has been Am F lord knows we aint never coming back F Am C aaaaaaaanimated sillouettes G F C evaporating like memories in mist F Am C aaaaaaaand im waiting on a dance G F C while the bones turn brittle in my chest Dm you see... Am i know what is me C G by viewing the page that i smudged all alone Dm Am pasting footprints in the wake C F of a tight rope walk Am G on pitzacato strings Am C with one wave of the finger G All the places that we send the word Am C From doorstep to doorstep G From the steeple rang the chapel bells Am C G come see the shadows making light of their own F its true... F Am C Animated sillhuoettes G F C carry away the bones of yesterdays ghost F Am C there's no waiting for the game G F C once you learn to play better being alone Dm you see... warm sunlight in the garden the river left it mark on me a day of connection seeking silence left exposed a world of soft and steady textures glows highway and a low slow slide guitar a swing on a veranda past the mountains in the yard watching details slur and sink down into scenes of parts that we are playing in other peoples dreams native birds and calls we haven't often heard of distance and of motion all while sitting still are stirred atop a rumble that had almost disappeared with out a name... the waves flow in from miles away space unmasks the layers upon the waves the continuous composer known as time scribes a variation on each of our own themes and though the past so long ago forgotten and unshown the dormant glory passages that hold on to the soul make themselves known the child has eyes for a fathers aged technique but what makes this contraption so unique? with out a name

the are crows in the tower by the dangling flag and the air smells of silence and fog there are pearls in the future just building in the clouds and waiting to crash into the earth so hold me woman don't let the lazy day die just hold me woman I don't wanna feel like the sky the fields are all but barren for the harvesting of ink worn into our knuckles torn skin nighttime comes early on a day like today and we dream of the whispers of rain so hold me woman don't let the lazy day die just hold me woman when i begin to feel like the sky the leaks in the ceiiling drowning frowns in in my chest and the buckets need changing I guess tomorrow'll be muddy so the reaper will rest and watch one more lonely painting pass so hold me woman don't let the lazy day die just hold me woman so I won't feel like the sky

you scribbled my new shoulders with a crayon from your back I wasn't whole untill you colored me in I sketched a giant sky you stretched a string around us We clasped our hands and watched the cities and the country sides blur beneath our Dream powered kite Then we grew small till the world reached up and spoke like thunder We moved the stones one by one until the puzzle pieces fit and all around around us where the black and white mosquito bankers wrote checks for blood and turned our time to dust tried to scatter us to the wind But together we had everything We climbed the flowers found it oh so exciting we wore disguises lived like minstrels in the streets snuck past the spiderwebs and dredge between the weeds Cheerful just to be pausing constantly to see our open eyes to each surprise with glances that acknowledge motions synchronized silent but entwined And with one touch The wind picked up We built a whole new dream to fly singing na na na....

you drifted off to Sleepyland and the children left in time and i now am a lonely castle's king and the empty rooms just breath like my queen upon the screen TV sounds - echoing the silence in between so i turn them off to think and the refrigerator hums an eerie theme as moonlight crawls along the walls calling me on... one more day is gone this night is mine alone and it is only like one other one on the island where you were for the first time since I ping ponged East from landing West this Night speaks changing silence but there's comfort in the room I imagine voices small will stir me first like her sister from the springtime said.... time to move... how many days of travel how many days to pack what will sunrise bring me and how long till I go back with none to prod me on after 10,000 one frame dreams..... the kind that make me weak and I will sort containers and the chaff from grain within Here I plan time and time I cannot scribe or rewind how many days lie before me I can count those left behind from you to you if we cut this on a bias will it lead us to the edge and if ... i close my eyes I am drifting with a ship that has no sails Columbus felt not quite this way you see, he knew how to get there but I know where to go

How would it be spoken as if you were fire and I was sitting round you with brevity and repetition repetition repetition repetitions we always speak I had this book This Dog eared Book scribbled on and underlined with a note on each and every page The more defaced the more it placed its secrets and riches its tones and its passions inside of those words precious and clinging tangled to our own Long may the lines worn down find shape in our mouth drifting wild in the night

Birdseed 04:02
my little wren where have you been i looked all around in the garden where i found you the empty nest left in my chest keeps me holding on to the notion that you'll turn back i would hold you in my arms hold you in my arms 'til forever comes but the warmth you once gave wouldn't be the same if i tried to keep you so fly away come back some day your love is the only tether that can hold you all that i am latched to this land sacrificing self to the changing of the seasons i could wait for you till spring wait to hear you sing until forever but the price i might pay to one day hear you say that i love you so come fly away ------- and with the wings i never grew i'll flutter in the grass while you go gently soaring, rising, floating round above the trees and mountains out across the lakes and forests, "all the things that lie before us" you will turn to say to me but i'll be flapping lead filled wings staring from ground up at you i'll regret not chasing wasting all the things i had inside and all the dreams i dreamed I'd find and if i move on you might never find me in my other feathers for the price i pay the same i purchase the empyrean

Confessional 02:37
transparent conversation to expose my heart words that are so much of me in riddles are spoken have I let you down are you punishing me now guilt another place where i need to be not needed times honest tried went above and beyond obscured by anonymity why disappear into the darkness silently if the reason i hide is the reason i hate my pride why cant i let go and love all that is left behind and chase only one to where ever it goes in place of the million falling aparts in times when life has shattered crumbling to the ground not once have you not been there my fall to catch in light of the morning one needs not be two places patient at once not watching while longing to participate guide my choice and decision t'wards this one last chance to chase fate cry not for the goal of this world nor wealth of thy parents in lieu of the wealth of thy self

Untouchable 03:49
such a deep sadness. untouchable. unfound though out the years of prodding. of digging . where have I been. why can I not find me. to open up my eyes . and know its all been a dream. not real at all. shhh. can you hear it. calling . from within. so quietly. words come though me . words come to me. shed a tear. down a cheek. into an outstretched hand. rolling from fingers onto the floor. like it I fall. don’t you see me at all. happy new year .

about

Wake Whistler And The Willowy Drover Joshua Tree, California

Here exists what became a necessary outlet for Singer Songwriter material by Blanton Ross. Many of these Tracks will never make it past the Demo phase unless recorded by another artist, and so may retain some level of childlike innocence. Some are old and simply don't fit into any of the more modern projects. Expect primarily acoustic lo-fi. Thank you for visiting and please enjoy ... more
